Faical Moulid Cavalcade, The Ball, Bareback Riding, Roman Riding, Pieds Percussion, Libertad, Trick Riding
Born in the seaside resort of Agadir, Morocco, on the Mediterranean coast, Faiçal Moulid grew up in a culture and family where his talents quickly flourished. Known as a “taäa” or contortionist in Berber – his native language – Faiçal excels in Moroccan acrobatic traditions that have been an art form for generations. “My brother taught me everything,” says Faiçal, one of the youngest members of Cavalia’s cast. Performing daunting maneuvers where his body bends like clay, Faiçal appears with his childhood friends in a thrilling act where the stage transforms into a virtual Roman coliseum. “Every day I practice. If I’m not practicing, I cannot do it,” explains Faiçal, who also tops a 3-man pyramid.
During the show, Faiçal admits drawing energy from the crowd. “I like to create reactions in the audience. The oohs and aahs inspire me a lot. I often look at someone in the audience, and observe their expressions and reactions and that makes me smile.” His favourite expression is “Look at me if I’m watching…”
