Console Operator
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Technical Director, the console operator is responsible for programming and operating the lighting console in accordance with the artistic design of the show. The candidate must be available to work under a flexible schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proceeding with the installation and ensuring of the long-term integrity of lighting equipment;
- Ensuring that the system works properly;
- Operating the lighting console during performances, rehearsals, trainings and TV promotion;
- Pre-setting the system before shows;
- Implementing any technical changes required by the lighting designer, technical director or artistic coordinator;
- Ensuring that the lighting equipment conforms to the concept of the show;
- Ensuring that the facilities are safe at all times;
- Taking part in maintaining all technical lighting equipment;
- Assembling and disassembling the lighting system between cities;
- Supervising local staff during assembly and disassembly.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of at least 5 years as a console operator for artistic productions;
- Knowledge of the principles of lighting, electrical systems and computer operations for large theatre productions;
- Knowledge of lighting equipment, Martin ETC Sensor and GrandMA Console
- Bilingual (English and French);
- Interested in touring full-time with the show and authorized to travel and work in foreign countries.
SALARY
To be discussed according to experience.
Tour conditions include transport, housing, per diem and meals.
